Submit for Issue 11: STILL

Hello, are you still there?

Here I am still waiting, still standing before the calm of the storm, still– even now.

Here I am finding moments of stillness in a vineyard with no breeze, in last month’s groceries

lied on the kitchen table, a still-life, in the corner of my room when no one else is there when it’s still quiet– still motionless. A film still flashes first and falls on my face, then holds still the light. Frozen.

Here I am in front of still water stilling the stirring of the silence.

Here I am holding still, keeping still—and still, it continues, without growing.

Yes, I’m still here.
