Submissions for Volume 8: DEBT are now CLOSED
For FU Review Issue 8, we’re looking for work that deals with or expands on the concept of debt.
Debt takes many forms - financial, emotional, historical - and it affects everyone. We chose it as the theme for this issue because we’ve found that, despite the enormous space that debt occupies in our lives today, it can be hard to articulate our feelings about or experiences of it.
We see Issue 8 as an opportunity to build a more empathetic and complex language around this difficult little word. We welcome submissions that explore the many meanings of debt, or that create new meanings around it. What about debt as a lover, friend, or family member? What about racialized or gendered debt, the debts created by inequality? What would it mean to live in a debt-free society?
All published authors will be paid €20 and receive a print copy of Issue 8.
The FU Review publishes prose, poetry, nonfiction, and English-language translations. There is no word-count limit, but please submit no more than 5 poems or 2 prose pieces.
